Flood Mitigation

Flood Risk Mitigation Studies

These studies focus on the analysis of watersheds and identification of surface runoff pathways in urban and rural areas,
with the aim of reducing damage from flash floods and enhancing drainage infrastructure.

6.1 Work Methodology

  1. Analyzing natural drainage networks using LiDAR and DEM data with 1–5 m resolution.
  2. Calculating design floods using HEC-HMS and SWMM.
  3. Applying flood hazard indices (Flood Hazard Index).
  4. Designing protective structures: culverts, channels, retaining walls, and deflection barriers.
  5. Estimating temporal hydrological risk (Flood Return Period).
  6. Identifying flood-prone areas and designing protection systems against flash flood hazards.

6.2 Technical Deliverables

  • Flood zoning maps (Flood Zoning Maps).
  • Design recommendations for improving surface drainage.
  • Emergency response plans (Emergency Response Plans).
